Central Washington Youth Lacrosse League (CWLL)
WHO WE ARE
The Central Washington Youth Lacrosse League (CWLL) brings together nine youth lacrosse programs across central and southeast Washington and northeast Oregon.
Our goal is simple: grow the game, develop young athletes, and create a positive lacrosse experience for players, families, coaches, and communities.
Through lacrosse, players build skills, confidence, friendships, teamwork, discipline, and a lifelong appreciation for the game.
SPRING SEASON
Each spring, hundreds of young athletes take the field across the CWLL.
The league supports boys’ and girls’ teams at multiple age levels, giving players the opportunity to learn the game, compete, improve, and have fun.
With more than 550 players and over 50 teams, CWLL continues to grow lacrosse throughout our region.
OUR PROGRAMS
CWLL is made up of nine community-based youth lacrosse programs located throughout central and southeast Washington and northeast Oregon.
Bringing these programs together creates consistent league competition, shared standards, and opportunities for players to compete against teams from across the region.
More importantly, it connects communities through the game of lacrosse.
MORE THAN A GAME — THE CREATOR’S GAME
Lacrosse has a history and meaning that go far beyond modern competition.
The game originated with the Indigenous peoples of North America, where it has been played for centuries with deep cultural, spiritual, and community significance. Often called the Creator’s Game, lacrosse reminds us that we are part of something much bigger than a scoreboard.
CWLL believes players, coaches, parents, and fans should understand and respect the origins and traditions of the game.
That respect is reflected in the ROOTS philosophy:

Respect and play by the rules of the game.

Compete hard while respecting the people you compete against.

Respect the officials and the difficult job they perform.

Support your teammates and put the team ahead of yourself.

Respect yourself, your actions, and the way you represent your team and community.
We want our players to play hard, compete with passion, respect the game, and leave the field knowing they represented themselves and their community well.
OUR MISSION
CWLL is committed to providing a safe, positive, competitive, and fun lacrosse experience where young athletes can grow both on and off the field.
We focus on a few core values:

Winning matters, and competition is part of what makes sports exciting—but developing good teammates, strong leaders, and young people who respect the game matters even more.
DEVELOPING YOUNG ATHLETES
Lacrosse teaches lessons that go well beyond throwing, catching, and scoring goals.
Players learn how to work as a team, communicate, lead, handle adversity, compete under pressure, and keep working when things do not go their way.
They also build friendships and memories that can last long after their playing days are over.
Our goal is for every player to get better, compete hard, have fun, and leave each season wanting to come back.
COMPETITION AND PLAYER DEVELOPMENT
CWLL provides league games, jamborees, tournaments, and other opportunities for players to compete and develop throughout the season.
We believe in competitive lacrosse while keeping the focus where it belongs: player development, safety, sportsmanship, and creating a great experience for kids.
Success is not measured only by wins and losses. It is also measured by how much our players improve, how teams represent their communities, and whether kids develop a lasting love for the game.

CWLL is powered by volunteers.
Coaches, officials, parents, board members, sponsors, and community partners give countless hours each year to make youth lacrosse possible.
From coaching teams and lining fields to organizing schedules, officiating games, raising funds, and traveling across the region, it takes an incredible amount of teamwork behind the scenes.
We appreciate everyone who gives their time and energy to help kids play this great game.
LOOKING AHEAD
CWLL continues to focus on growing and strengthening lacrosse throughout our region.
That means building strong local programs, creating more opportunities for boys and girls to play, developing better coaches and officials, and providing a positive competitive environment for every athlete.
We do not just want to grow the number of kids playing lacrosse.
We want to grow the game the right way.

The Central Washington Youth Lacrosse League is more than a collection of teams. It is a community connected by lacrosse.
Across nine programs and hundreds of players, we come together to compete, develop, build friendships, and carry forward a game with a history much greater than ourselves.
